Curatorial text
There are several paths that led to this exhibition, but the main motivator was a personal exploration to find spaces for reflection, identity and coherence.
Long hours of observing nature’s proposals and its movements generate in me the impulse to create. Thus, bark, branches, stones, moss, water, skin, colors, shine, patterns and textures were captured intrinsically to rescue singularities.
And from each ephemeral posture I found myself tempted to reproduce natural qualities in already known materials, to, almost in a playful way, provoke the exploration and challenge of their properties.
Each proposal reveals the flat and rigid origin of metal, non-random shapes are cut and opened, morphologies mature, the impermanence of nature is impregnated, organic forms are identified, to finally invade and occupy spaces.
And maybe, just maybe, after the disorder and the unfolding, the balance sought to capture a particular identity in each work appears.
