Smells Earth

A keen line that appears itself as a connection between territories and experiences. So thin and continuous that it guides us along the horizon and transports us to that place where you always want to return; that place where the aroma is unique. The pieces of work of Mane Zorraquín wrap lived experiences around a timeless atmosphere, feeling a surprise like being observed for the first time, immortalizing the details, and highlighting the wonder of existence. Today, those unique instances remain present with new exquisiteness. The land once was is honored and now its perfume remains. The selection of the pieces of work exhibited here allow us to travel between skies and feel the aroma of earth.

For Mane, her production is composed of a symphony of washes, diluted layers, saturation of colours, welcoming spots, and the lightness of white paper that holds the emotionality and experience of the artist. The present body and gestures allow liberties to be taken and the work to be a means to express what emerges from her without conditions, without prejudices.
Another Sky gathers the moments travelled on a different land from where Mane was born and that now belongs to her as much as if it were hers. Each piece of work carries us to those magical moments that today compose her present. Feeling at home whenever we observe the sky, when we become aware of the landscapes that surround us, when we can understand that we are all of those moments, all of those fragments and in unison we feel present. The exhibition invites us to be here together with all of our skies – with all of our parts. It is a festivity to celebrate the now. The artist shares her sky with us. She invites us to hug transition, to connect ourselves with our worlds. She offers us a moment of contemplation within the whirl of life.
