4 Elementos

Curatorial text
Silicon Oxide (SiO2); Cellulose (C6H10O5); Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) and Iron (Fe) are the elements that mainly constitute glass, wood, marble and iron.
If we had to spatially represent each of these chemical elements we would see chains of small spheres that join together, giving rise to absolutely abstract structures that look like a skeleton or matrix; It is the spatial composition of the chemical elements that gives shape to these structures.
Likewise, in this natural abstraction we can appreciate forms that are of singular beauty. Which allows us to conjecture that these four elements already have in their most intimate composition a potential or destiny of abstraction, aesthetic simplicity, spatiality and dynamism.
Canzio, Dardalla, Miniotti and Torcello work and respect the essence of these noble materials; With their hands and work tools they guide that latent abstraction in the bowels of those raw materials towards another level of abstraction, that which is visible to the human eye.
verything in these pieces refers to essential abstraction, and it is the sensitivity, talent and craft of these creators that transforms the materials into intensely vital abstract structures, into powerful works of art.
Each of the artists forms an inseparable duo with their material, and they all agree in perceiving the intensity and transcendence of that connection during the creative process. It is in this sensitive union where a large part of the final result of the work is played, and it is precisely the passion that each one shows in this bond that led us to think about this exhibition.
Mónica Canzio – Glass
Using welding techniques and stained glass oil painting, Mónica rediscovers the expressive possibilities of glass, generating the freshness of the new, of the never seen. In her approach, she imposes evidence of an almost miraculous metamorphosis of the material and its physical quality.
Carmen Dardalla – Carrara marble
Carmen has been working with Carrara marble for many years; Here she presents for the first time works of total abstraction, introducing another element in them, resin. The conjunction of these two noble materials contributes to the creation of an extremely risky contemporary poetics.
Fabio Miniotti – Iron
The simplicity of the definition and the protein quality of Fabio’s works contrast with the hardness of iron. This series, designed entirely for this exhibition, amalgamates the fantastic and the beautiful in wall works that, paradoxically, enhance depth and the third dimension.
María Torcello – Wood
“The Möbius or Moebius strip or strip is a surface with a single side and a single edge. “It has the mathematical property of being a non-orientable object.” María titles a new series of works Möebius. Captivating wherever you look at them, they are like nature itself: non-orientable objects.
