Expand the limits

… And in the deep and transparent calm
That little by little and silently
It will flood your transparent chest.

You will feel the heartbeat in love
With your heart recovered
It will tell you everything, everything, everything..

Silence
Francisco Luis Bernardez

Mane can barely glide over the paper, as if he did not want to approach it, only to fly over it to go much further, to look for a more distant space, still unknown. And isn’t that what we do when we decide to have a child? When do we go on a journey? When do we look for new lands to inhabit? When do we change the skin?

Their papers are not two-dimensional supports, they seem. But they are territories, the colors do not lean on it, they dance weightlessly at will in another dimension and in another space but she makes us believe that the images are here, in front of our eyes, on that paper, almost so that we are witnesses and when they ask us, we have to answer yes, that colors can float, they can fly, appear and disappear at will. And we will bear witness.

The colors gave Mane permission to tell us what Tuscany is like, what it is like to live looking at the air, the land and the sea. And also what it is like to be Mother Earth, the Earth that begets, the Mother that becomes Earth. What smell does the earth have there? What color is it to give birth to? How do you say happiness without using words?

The silence, ah! I almost forgot about silence, the other protagonist of this work, essential for her to become one with what she inhabits. The painter and the landscape, the color, the paper and a huge, immeasurable and immeasurable space that silences everything in which it is no longer reflected or recognized.

Enjoy contemplating the silence, because before you know it Mane and her Landscapes-Earth-Mother will go back to inhabit the “limitless”, and will grow once again without even taking refuge in our gaze.
