There was a pause in time, an interval, a new, empty space, which prompted me to think, order, resume reading art and poetry books and start working.

I used materials and tools that I had in my workshop; papers, ink, brushes, branches and flowers collected during my walks in nature, and my engraving burins.

I called this series Stillness thinking about that suspended time, that absence of movement that led me to draw in a different way, meditative and active at the same time, marking the paper with a burin and building the work in layers suggesting an object in space. , not just a drawn surface. I got carried away by the possibilities offered by the materials and how they interacted with my imagination in a simple and fluid way. With the repetition of gestures and strokes and my attention only in the present moment, I was filling all the space of the paper; even at times having to control the rhythm of my breathing when drawing and agreeing to work with the imperfection.

In this exhibition I also show a series of lithographs made in 2019, At Home With Debussy, in which I continue to work with the line, using chine collé, with Japanese papers, to create possible and impossible spaces and places.

I invite viewers to come closer to these pieces and take time to observe and listen to what they have to say.
