Curatorial text

Painting is stopping, although in painting that stopping is paradoxical, because it overflows with movement. The brief synthesis of landscape architecture that is the structural basis for Silvina Resnik’s lyrical scenes exceeds mere compositional resolution to reveal itself as a programmatic pause of strategic reflection and contemplative impregnation. The artist defines the harmonic proportions and magnitudes of the point of view with a drawing that stops at what is strictly necessary. The whisper of the elemental strokes that establish the frame, the scope and the characters of almost indistinguishable corporeality is almost fantastical, to concoct, more than a motif, a virtual resonance box where the urgent outburst, the rapid active passage of brush strokes and stains in a fierce gale, soaking the epidermis of the support with watery passion with a carnal gush of fiery nuances, ancestral wounds and oceanic vibrations.

Everything vibrates and is exalted in this torrid ride; The sky and the earth, the grass and the foliage, the flowering and the thunder are intertwined in an animistic multiple chord with the figures that, turning their backs to us, look from inside the painting at what is happening in the same painting, together with the others that They summarize the family vignette, those who adopt the brief poses of idle hedonism, the lonely ones, the ones in love.

At the command of a bursting palette, Resnik expands the environmental artifice with which he has known how to subsume the excited rhapsody of the mythical garden with the urban vitality of the public park, and with identical, illuminated naturalness he converts the sensitive watery subjectivity of his always intimate gaze into a testimonial poetic summa of community postcards.
