
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1951.
He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Manuel Belgrano in Buenos Aires. A visual artist and educator, he has exhibited locally and internationally in both group and solo shows, as well as in art fairs, since 1973.
He has received Argentina’s two most prestigious awards in the Drawing category: the Grand Prize of the National Salon (Gran Premio del Salón Nacional) and the Grand Prize of the Manuel Belgrano Municipal Salon (Gran Premio del Salón Municipal Manuel Belgrano).
Among other distinctions, he has been honored with the First Prize in Drawing from the Arawak Art Foundation, the Exxon Foundation Award, and the Konex Platinum Award.
His work is part of the collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA), Buenos Aires; the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA); the MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario; the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires (MAMBA); the Emilio Caraffa Museum, Córdoba; the Eduardo Sívori Museum, Buenos Aires; among others.
One of his works from the 1980s was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York.
In 2012, he was invited to present a solo exhibition at the 30th São Paulo Biennial.
He has exhibited internationally at the IVAM – Institut Valencià d’Art Modern, Valencia, Spain (2010); Centro Cultural Parque España, Rosario, Argentina (2010); Rosenfeld Porcini Gallery, London (2013); Xippas Gallery of Contemporary Art, Punta del Este, Uruguay (2013); Paris, France (2014); Montevideo, Uruguay (2015); Baró Galeria, São Paulo, Brazil (2015); and the Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat Art Collection Museum, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2017).
He has been a member of the National Academy of Fine Arts (Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes) since 2014.
An educator in Visual Arts since 1986, he has served as a juror for municipal and national art awards as well as for film festivals.
He is also the author of numerous reviews on artists and exhibitions, as well as essays on aesthetics and art policy, published in both local and international media.
He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
